Special Reserve is a Rock N' Roll band originating from Jerome, ID formed by three friends who decided to start a new project and play songs that had always blasted through their car stereos.  Covering from hard rock, classic rock, alternative rock and AWESOME ballads to  Rock en Español classics from Caifanes, Mana, Maldita, Soda, Gloria, Alejandra and Shakira (her early rock songs, none of that "Hips Don't Lie" style), theyplay as much as they can by artists have had great influence on their lives.

Noemi spent her teens playing keyboard and singing regional Mexican music - yes, she covered some Selena tunes - until the lack of passion for what she was playing pushed her to change music styles. Once she sang Sweet Child o' Mine, something immediately clicked and she pushed herself to learn to play the instrument needed for us to perform live - the bass. She was aware of all the "bass" jokes out there, but her desire to perform live helped her overcome the thought of playing all the bass solos everyone longs for at live performances. Interestingly enough, those bass jokes are nowhere to be heard when she performs live and bass solos are never requested. We guess is the fact that Noemi plays and sings some kick ass tunes and she sure can belt some great notes.

Paco started playing drums at the early age of 6 in Tijuana, Mexico and has played professionally since the age of 10.  In Tijuana, Paco played Rock and Roll songs by Zeppelin and Sabbath, then across the border, he played in the San Diego bars, tunes by Los Lobos and Santana. Sounds backwards, but this proves that music is universal. Always playing with ferocity and never holding back emotion, his performances are something to be witnessed. His passion and dedication behind the kit are to be feared and respected. Cover your ears because the thumping will crush your chest with a force of a 1,000 lb. sledgehammer.

Norberto decided to play guitar after watching his brother play La Bamba at a family event. After learning the song he decided to stop playing the guitar and focus on singing with his high school band.  After touring extensibly, in the same basement for years, the band with no name  broke up and Nor decided to focus on guitar once again, only to be forced to learn how to play the bass to help a local band.  For the lack of attention bass players get, he decided to try the drum kit for a couple years and he enjoyed it, but the band split. Once Paco and Noemi decided to start the band, Nor was given the opportunity to play guitar again. This time, he liked it more because La Bamba was not on the set list they had chosen.

After a few months of practicing together, the band now has a set list of over 70 Rock songs and over 50 Rock en Español songs. If the occasion allows it, they play both styles on the same night. There are not a lot of local band that cover as many styles as they can right now, at least not one that they know about, but if you know of one, please let them know because they would love to jam!

Special Reserve is ready for the next step in their musical journey and is currently working on original material that will be out this winter.
